At the Southern Museum of Flight, we believe museums are meant to be immersive, hands-on, educational, and exciting. Our museum is dedicated to sparking creativity and imagination for each of our guests, from students on a field trip to aviation enthusiasts and beyond. You will experience interactive exhibits, guided tours, flight simulators, and more when you visit our museum.
Additionally, we strive to provide quality educational experiences and resources. We’re members of the ASTC (Association of Science and Technology Centers) and the AAM (American Alliance of Museums). We also work with local universities to create engaging educational experiences and inspire students to pursue careers in aviation.
Our 75,000-square-foot museum is home to over 100 aircraft, as well as engines, models, artifacts, photographs, and paintings from the earliest history of powered flight. Each artifact and exhibit offers a story of courage, innovation, hardship, and triumph. We take special care to learn and preserve these stories through our guided museum tours and careful preservation by our aircraft restoration team. We are committed to preserving the history of the men and women who flew these aircraft and the aircraft themselves.
With your support, the Southern Museum of Flight can become more than a museum but a force of positive change and educational resources for our community. Donations of any amount are appreciated and carefully allocated to ensure the proper preservation of our artifacts and the continuation of our programs. You can donate from anywhere, at any time.
