The Southern Museum of Flight is open!

The Museum will initially be at a limited capacity and open Tuesday – Saturday 10am – 2pm.

The Museum has new protocols in place to make your visit as safe and comfortable as possible. Please review the new protocols that our visitors will be required to follow as well as the new safety measures:

Stay Home if You’re Sick

If you feel sick, have a fever, have experienced COVID-19 symptoms in the past few days, or if you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, please stay home.

Limited Capacity/Admissions

The Southern Museum of Flight will limit its visitor attendance to 50% capacity restrictions throughout museum galleries until further notice. We are open to the public with a reduced general admission of $5 for adults and children, Tuesday - Saturday from 10 a.m to 2 p.m.

Masks Required

All staff and visitors over the age of two are required to wear a mask throughout the duration of their visit in accordance with the State of Alabama and Jefferson County mandate.

Physical Distancing Enforced

Social distancing will be enforced and visitors should remain at least six feet away from other individuals.

Touchless Hand Sanitizer Stations

Touchless Hand Sanitizer stations can be found throughout the building for the convenience of visitors and staff.

Daily Cleaning

Daily Deep Cleanings and Routine half-hour to hourly cleanings of common/high volume traffic areas (such as door handles, bathrooms, etc.).

Closure of Interactives

Hands-on Exhibits, touch screens and/or interactives will be disabled or closed until further notice and water fountains will be disabled.

Closure of Events, Programs, Physical Spaces

Little Pilots Playroom will be closed until further notice;

Guided tours, classes, events and programs are cancelled until further notice;

All Museum special programs and tours will take place virtually for the foreseeable future.
